The kid with a Bike -Review

A must watch.Elegant tale of love.

Jean-Pierre Dardenne and Luc Dardenne has directed a raw and intense French drama again.

“The Kid with a Bike” opens with young Cyril, a fierce young boy trying to break free from an orphanage to see his father, while everyone around him is trying to explain that his father has left him there. It’s a heartbreaking opening.Like a young detective, he searches for his dad, visiting the bar and pastry shop, calling a number that is always disconnected, talking his way into his dad’s former apartment, where he is sure he will find his bicycle and his father.Soon he sees a new opportunity when he happens upon friendly mother figure Samantha, who agrees to take care of him on weekends, but his turbulent past leaves him unsure how to handle his emotions.

Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at 2011 Cannes Film Festival
Golden Globe nominee for Best Foreign Language Film .

A true masterpiece. It will make you think about Samantha and Cyril again and again.
